When a resident moves into Peace Village, it’s important they trust that they will always have a home here.

Because we are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), we hold that trust as sacred.

As a residents needs become greater, and circumstances change, the Lora Contorno Benevolent Fund can help.

As a not-for-profit, Peace Village is a special place that makes the comfort, safety and health of residents our top priority – first and always. When residents require financial assistance, Lora’s Fund is there to provide the funds needed to remain in their Peace Village home.

History of Lora’s Fund

In 2006, Lora Contorno joined Peace Village as Activities Coordinator and then moved into the Resident Support Facilitator role to bring a spiritual component to residents. “Lora was an advocate, confidant, friend, guardian and extended family member to every resident.”

Lora’s mission was to ensure that every resident had exactly what they needed – physically, mentally and spiritually – to thrive happily at Peace Village. Lora had a remarkable ability to resolve issues to everyone’s satisfaction, and was beloved by residents, caregivers and staff. She encouraged residents to use every resource available, including feeling positive about using financial assistance from the Benevolent Fund when needed.

Lora made a tremendous impact on Peace Village. After her passing from cancer in April 2017, Peace Village was honored to rename the Fund the Lora Contorno Benevolent Fund or Lora’s Fund, celebrating this special woman who always had a smile, a kind word and a great passion for helping others.
