Peace Village resident, Janet Finnegan recently went on one of our trips to Marcus theaters to see the 2018 version of “A Star is Born”.
This latest version stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. A Star Is Born has been remade four times, in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason, in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, in 2013 with Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in Aashiqui 2 and in 2018 with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. A little summary about this movie is as follows, A Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers — and falls in love with — struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
Janet really liked this movie. She said she didn’t have any expectations of the movie, but she did know it has been released a couple of times previously. Janet said that she would recommend the film and that she gives “A Star is Born” 3.5 stars out of 5. She explained the reason she gave it only 3.5 stars is because of the language that was used, she thought they could’ve used a better choice of words. In all, Janet was very pleased with “A Star is Born”
